Fasting

As many should know, we are going into the season of Lent.  Some people have asked me why do you have to fast.

I would reply that it’s self denial.  Remembering that we do not live by bread alone.

St. Augustine wrote on the matter-

“Fasting cleanses the soul, raises the mind, subjects one’s flesh to the Spirit, renders the heart contrite and humble, scatters the clouds of concupiscence, quenches the fire of lust, and kindles the true light of chastity”

I hope that this elightens people to the light of Christ.

Being my 1st post I must say…..anyone who wants me to prayer for them you can leave your name and intention here.

Im Catholic, but you dont have to be I’ll still pray for you.

PS. For catholics i will try to post prayers and devotions and news concerning our religion

and for other’s i will try to enlighten you to the truth about catholic’s and what we know to be true

May God Almighty bless all of you, and may He keep love and peace in your familys, in Jesus name who live and reigns with Him in the unity of the Holy Spirit.      Amen
